Morale thread
« on: August 22, 2018, 11:42:53 PM »
How's everyone doing? Hasn't been much of anything for a while.

Talk about whats up, plans, interests, anything.

Just trying to poke and see what's up.

Lurking (duh) for the past year. Haven't been able to do anything else to contribute here; everything's busy on my end. Hella busy. Honestly, I was hoping this site would get more popular. This college semester though, I'm hoping to create a little choose-your-own-adventure story over at CHYOA using this site's themes. i mean who wouldn't want an invisible girl succing u lets be fair.

Though I doubt it; math classes kick my ass every year.

Anyways, how were you all (the few who actually come here)?
I lurk. I mean what else?

We actually have an interactive story, but no one adds to it because it's a wiki and it's complicated.
I guess.

And the reason the site is so dead is because the admin/founding author is a loser who doesn't write anything.

I'll be honest ves if the interactive was easier to use.  I would add to it. I have added to it but i still dont really get it.

If there's a bunch of people who have content too post but don't know how or people just don't like the interactive I COULD port the content to another site (with ves's permission of coarse) like CHYOA.com or the infamous writing.com

It would really just be a whole lot of copy/paste action.

I've actually been thinking about asking if migrating the interactive to CHYOA would be possible. I don't think it's just about the difficulty of using a wiki but also about the small user base this community has. I also think that all chyoa stories, regardless of host, suffer from endless buildup and eventually disinterest and this compounds the issue.

I used to code, I used to right short snippets of stories, and I've wanted to help this site so much but my mental state is so screwed I can't even get past setting up a dev environment.

I would take the time to copy/paste everything over if we wanted to expand to a bigger community like that.

In the end the decision is Vestiphile's

Yeah, getting pinged with an ad at writing.com (or being told they can't handle the traffic unless I pay them) is waaaay better.
The other thing I find with writing.com is people who write chapters that consist of one sentence, and then they just fill the options with things they want to see *someone else* write.

Also: do it fast.
We have a new server and I'm going to wipe everything that people aren't using.

Send whatever you've got to me and we'll get it loaded. Going forward, you can send it to me, link the chapter you want it added too, and I'll figure the rest out.

(Also, it's Morale)

hahahahaha...no one is ever going to do that.
Everyone wants to take the game to a different field? Let it happen. So says the site owner

So I guess I'd better get busy with my site then...?

I'm migrating it all to CHYOA since it isnt diddled by adds as much.

My progress will be set to private until it's done and I can give content creators a chance to object to stuff being on CHOYA so I dont feel like a thief

Doe, your site will be fine. The wiki isn't useful to folks, and I'm getting that now.

I've calmed down and realized the depth of my idiocy, and I'm sorry for flipping.
TheCanadian--thanks for your work in moving everything over. Now that I've stopped being shortsighted about getting this stuff into a place where people can easily participate, lemme try again:

I appreciate the sentiment and I hope the move drives me to create more again here.
It's time for me to grow up and stop standing on merit from things I've done over a decade ago.
Unless it's constructive, I'm going to shut my mouth from here on out until I have more to bring to the table.

Thanks for being patient with me, guys.
